Complete Site Design for Mid Sussex based glass business, from concept, through to coding.

The site has been enhanced with custom jquery written by me, see the slideshows on the home, and splashbacks pages that are cycle based with custom coding.

I’ve also worked extensively with the Glass Company on SEO for their site, achieving first page rankings for their business, and managed an adwords campaign on their behalf, which has helped to transform a new aspect of their operation.

Website and CMS Development

The Solar Electricity Company approached me to create a website for their emerging Solar Energy Business.

The brief was to develop a Content Management System based website, with blogging features, the ability to show media, such as video, as well as being extensible for the future, and able to serve the business well in terms of SEO.

The site is WordPress based, with a custom theme that I created on behalf of the company.

The design brief was to stick with the company’s ‘sunshine based pallette – I completed the design work for this project as well.

The site is now managed by the customer themselves – www.smartsolarsystems.biz

Website Management

For the last few years I’ve been working for CACI, a Digital Agency in London, helping to manage their Corporate site – I worked full time as part of the Marketing team there, looking after the technical development and maintenance of the website.

I’m now continuing in that role on a freelance basis. This involves managing, and maintaining the technical aspects of the Content Management System, writing custom functionality that is not available in the CMS, using HTML, CSS, JQuery, PHP, MySQl. There are lots of examples of work that I have carried out within the site.

I also look after the SEO for this site – I undertook a project in 2010 to improve the organic rankings of the site, and achieved good success with the areas I worked with.

My last project was a complete re-development of the Corporate intranet for CACI.

The scope of the project was for me to take the concept produced by the lead graphic designer at CACI, and turn it into a fully working intranet, with a content management system so that the varous different parts of the business can administer their own sections of the site.

To achieve this I chose WordPress as the CMS , which I’ve customised heavily with additional functions, and created a completely custom theme for the business to use.

I’ve used HTML, CSS, PHP, JQuery, and a small amount of Javascript for the structure and CMS.

The graphical look of the front end of the site is a very accurate representation of the concepts presented to me for implementation.

Interface Development

I’ve been working on an ongoing project for some period of time for CACI, redeveloping the front-end of their Childrens Centre Manager application.

The objective of this task was to take a graphical interface concept provided by an external agency, and make it work with the existing.net application.

To achieve this, I’ve hand-coded valid HTML, and CSS for each of the interfaces within the application. The web-based software is provided to local authorities, and therefore valid mark-up, and clear concise interfaces were important.

Forum Customisation

Customisation of YAF.net forum for the Childrens Services Division of CACI.

My role in this was to take the standard open source forum created by YAF, and customise it according to the concept created by the marketing team at CACI.

This was completed using custom HTML markup, and CSS to give the forum the CACI identity. I also carried out some modifications to the logic to make the forum more suitable for the needs of the childrens services team.

The site is locked behind a security login, – there is a screen shot below for comparison against the original at YAF.

Integrated Marketing Blog

To assert CACI’s expert integrated marketing team, I was asked to create a blog site, which met CACI’s branding standards, and allowed for non-technical writers to add their content on an easy basis.

Using WordPress as a base, I created a custom blog ,and content management system for the business. All CSS, HTML, PHP, and WordPress customisation by me.

Body and Face Website

Complete site design and build for Beauty Salon, from concept through to coding, and optimisation for search engines.

The brief for this site was to build a website that was detailed and informative about the treatments that the salon offer, whilst representing the polished image of the company through their online presence.

The site is laid out completely in CSS, with some javascript and php integration to satisfy the more technical requirements of the site.

The site is accessible, and designed to conform to the W3 specification for good design.

TFMA Animation

This After Effects based animation was created for an Exhibtion that CACI attended at Olympia, London.

The concept was produced by Matt Houston, a graphic designer at CACI, who I worked with to storyboard out the animation piece. I then took Matt’s concept, and carried out the production in After Effects, using some Photoshop, and Illustrator work for the images. The final renders were done in Quick Time Pro with a h264 compressor.
